Inspiration

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. "
I love that quote by CoCo Chanel. Fashion is all around us. I feel like Gwen Stefani is a good example of this: Even if she wears a plain outfit, her makeup makes a statement on its own. To me, that is fashion.

Gwen inspires me (in so many ways) but lately she's inspired me to dress up my lips with hot pink and red shades...she is able to pull off the bright pink lip and the classic red lip SO WELL. I used to always skip my lips- just didnt seem important to me, but lately I can't get enough bright colors for my lips. It makes such a difference! I urge you to step outside of your normal beauty routine and try something different...I know there is nothing new about a bold lipcolor, but there are many women who do not dress up their lips.

MAC has a great hot pink lipstick

And for my red color, I found something by Revlon that I love - the colorburst line

...and I had to include this picture because once again, she is gorgeous! Here she is with a natural lip, which we very rarely see her do. I prefer her with her signature red lips but she proves she can pull off the natural look as well.

Anyways, I want to know, who has inspired you lately? Music, fashion, makeup...who?

Review - Oscar Brandi hair product and also morrocon/aragon oil

So, I have wavy, unruly hair. It also tends to get flat on top. When I saw this product at Sephora I was excited by what it claimed to do...and I'm happy to report it didn't dissapoint! It instantly makes my hair feel smooth and relaxed, but at the same time gives volume to the roots. So it definitely did everything it said it would do. I highly recommend this product to anyone who seeks a product that will straighten, smooth, and add volume.

$28.00

There is no residue from the spray, and the hair remains soft no matter how much you use. All other volumizing products I have used before always left a residue, this one does not!

Moving on to the next product I wanted to share with you, Aragan oil, or also referred to as Moroccon oil, is something I've been using for about six months now. Aragan oil is known for hyrdrating and moisturizing skin and hair. Being someone who has put my hair through A LOT, (all sorts of colors) I definitely have some split ends and damaged areas. I wanted to find a product that would really help saturate my dry hair and get it back to a healthy state. I can tell you that my hair is noticeably stronger and the split ends are hardly noticeable now.  I spray two sprays while my hair is still wet, then blow dry. You can consider this a daily moisturizer treatment for your hair.

You can purchase this from the beauty supply store or from most regular beauty supply chain stores like Sally's. Josie Maran makes one for Sephora that I hear works well.

And of course, I managed to find a great dress I had to have...

The dress is from a boutique in Huntington called Varga

I paired the dress with white BeBe pumps I purchased a few years ago (still  in mint condition)

2011 Summer hats- The fedora (again) and the floppy hat

As far as every day accessories go, hats tend to be the forgotten child in the closet. To see a celebrity wear a fashion forward hat is nothing new, or fashion forward females living in a city may sport them. But for people who are not celebrities or not living in a fashion friendly city, wearing a lovely hat may seem like a bit too much.

However, I really believe that this summer will change the mindset that hats are "too much". Check out the pictures below to see how a beautiful hat can polish off your outfit. Straw fedoras will  be huge again this summer, as well as the classic grey, black, and white fedoras. To me, what makes fedoras so fun is you can dress them up or down. They are cute with dresses and also cute with a casual tee and jeans, (pictures below give an example of each look)

The floppy hat is back!
I adore floppy hats but have yet to wear one. They look so glamorous, especially with beautiful dresses.

               I love this picture...
