Every girl should have some studs in her life

Every time I watch the first Sex and the City movie, I fall in love all over again with the studded  belt Carrie wears. She wears this belt in several different scenes in the movie. It was probably the 5th time I watched this movie that I realized just how many scenes this belt appears in. I think part of this is due to the way she mixes up the usage of the belt. What a great example of how to wear one piece in several different ways.

The first scene we see the belt in is the scene where Carrie and Big go apartment hunting, which is where the picture above comes from. I love how the belt is paired with such a beautiful, elegant dress. It is always fun to use an edgy piece paired with something girly.

Sidetrack moment: I didn't even notice the adorable Eiffel Tower purse of her's the first few times I watched the movie. Love it!

           Back to the belt...

Next, the belt appears in the scene where Carrie calls Samantha to announce her engagement. In this scene, Carrie is wearing an adorable hot pink dress. Hot pink and black look great together, so again I loved this look.

The next scene the belt appears in is a much sadder time for Carrie. She is still in the process of taking in her broken relationship with Big. The belt appears in the scene where Carrie and Miranda are doing some Halloween shopping in a drugstore.Carrie is also wearing this outfit when she spots the Vogue magazine which featured a story on her upcoming wedding to Big. She buys the magazine in shame and scampers off in her fabulous outfit.

The last picture of Carrie with the belt is from promos for the movie, I do not believe this outfit appears in the film itself.

I spy...

On a recent trip to Macy's, I saw some darling shoes by Steve Madden, Jessica Simpson, and BCBG. I am loving the ankle booties, which were huge last fall and will be once again this year. My absolute favorite trend for shoes for fall this season though  is the Mary Jane heel. A true feminime classic if you ask me. Ankle booties and the Mary Jane heel can be seen in every shoe store already for fall.

                         1. BCBG Harley peep toe Mary Jane
                         2. Jessica Simpson "Cheetah" Mary Jane
                         3. Steve Madden Annnie Wedge bootie (yes Annnie with 3 n's )
                         4. Steve Madden "Watchout" wedge
                         5. Steve Madden "Annie L Leopard" bootie

I am trying to be good and not buy anything for a while, but I still wanted to share this little wishlist with you! What fall trends are you looking forward to?

Clutch much?

I'm very aware that clutches are not a new trend. However, this past year, clutches have taken over. I have a few clutches that I think are very cute, but I have a problem with them. You see, I am so accustomed to always having a large purse with me, the idea of having something small to carry in my hand all night seems a bit foreign. Also, carrying a clutch to me feels like carrying a wallet. It would be so easy to get distracted somewhere...set it down, then have it be lost forever. Having said that, I had to ease my way into the concept of taking a clutch out with me night after night. Once I realized that I would only loose the clutch if I had too much to drink, I understood it was just like a purse, only more convenient.

2- turqoise clutch at Barney's
3-Floral lace clutch, Forever 21
4-Pink envelope clutch, http://www.modelundgen.se/
5- Striped clutch, Edie Parker at Barney's
6-Coral clutch, Rebecca Minkoff the "MAC" clutch
7- House of Harlow "Tilly" studded clutch
8-Suzy Smith Velvet charm clutch bag
9-Valentino satin clutch with bow

If you are tired of digging through your large purses like I was, you might want to consider having some clutches on hand. Not only that, I have found with certain dresses, large purses will not do. Sometimes, a delicate dress needs a clutch to go with it...not an oversized purse.  The picture above shows 9 of my favorite clutches for this upcoming season. The clutches in the picture range anywhere in price from $29.00 to $2,000  ( I do not own the $2,000 ones ;)   )     Forever 21, Topshop, Claire's and Macy's are some of the most common stores you can find cute clutches in.

One of my favorite shoe stores...

One of my favorite shoe stores, Aldo's, happens to be having a great sale right now. You should check it out online at aldoshoes.com They have every type of shoe imaginable, not to mention very cute accessories. I wish I had one in my hometown. Maybe one day... Below is a picture of my current Aldo wishlist. Two of them are for under $40, not bad at all. Not to mention that Aldo makes good quality shoes, always comfortable and last a long time. Happy shoe shopping!

To order from across the pond or not...

So, unfortunately, I discovered a clothing company online based in the UK that has some really cute and sexy blouses. I say unfortunately because I live in the states, and the last time I ordered internationally ( from Miss Selfridge)- there was a problem. I needed to send the item back because they sent me the wrong size, so I paid again for shipping to have the item returned, which the shipping cost was more expensive than the item itself! But I digress...when I never received my correct size from them, I found out they "never received" my item that I had shipped back. So I was out of about $70 for a skirt I never received.

Having said that...the cute clothing company I am talking about is called Blue Banana. I came across a particular blouse that I must have, so I am debating ordering from across the pond. What to do?!?!

Also, I found most of the items by Blue Banana that I loved through amazon.uk, so I'm not really sure about ordering through them yet...but how cute is that top? It looks oh so flattering for the girls, and I always love a good shoulder cut out. Anyways, have any of you ordered through Blue Banana before? Just curious...

Anyways, below is a general idea of what I would wear this top with...

1. Blue Banana top
2. Citizens of Humanity straight leg jeans - any jeans will do, I just bought a straight leg pair for $20.00 at Forever 21
3. Juicy Necklace- I justed used this picture because it is a simple, plain, yet elegant necklace, which I thought was what the blouse needed
4. Big Buddha bag - great white bag for summer
5. BCBG Nesta heels- love the color of this shoe for summer

And probably top it all off with a bold red lip!
