San Fran treats

Weather forecasts proved to be wrong this weekend...what storm? The weather in San Francisco was beautiful over the weekend. Some light rain, but not for long. The sun came out every day.

Fabulous food, an old friend, beautiful scenery, alcohol, and some shopping made for a great trip. My only regret is that pictures do not do this city with beautiful scenery and houses justice.

We spent a good amount of time on a pier close to the Golden Gate bridge, which gave us great photo opportunities of not only the bridge but also Alcatraz.

Facing South on the pier, you get great views of the waterfront, and more importantly, of Ghiradelli Square...

My treat from Ghiradelli- it was more like dinner than it was dessert ;)

                                                                  Loved her style

Makeup trends- spring and summer 2011

Fashion trends influence makeup trends. Keeping that in mind, here is a look at the most popular trends in makeup for this spring and summer.

The natural look - this look is my favorite when going for the boho/70's look.  Nude eyes and lips with natural looking foundation and bronzer to finish it off.  Exfoliating twice a week will help make your skin look fresh, which will help with the natural look of course.

Lacoste 2011

Dolce and Gabbana

Product you might like to achieve the natural look: Bronzer by Too Faced

Too faced Caribbean in a compact- sun bunny $28

This gives a great sun kissed glow

Bold Lips- bright pinks and true reds make for the perfect bold lip. This look is great for a night out or to make a plain outfit pop. Take it easy on the eye makeup when doing bold lips.

          Fendi                                                                                           Gucci

Mac has a great bright pink lipstick called Girl About Town

Dolce and Gabbana have a great red color- Iconic

Bright Eyes
- crazy bright eyeshadows are something I have personally never been able to pull off, unless I just do a small section in a bright color. To those of you with larger eyelids, rock on.

                      Dior 2011

Mac is great for bold eyeshadows

Smokey Eyes- for me, smokey eye makeup is not a trend, but a way of life. I love dark eyeliners and darker eyeshadows (esp plum colors). Dark blues, browns, and gray eyeshadows are great to have on hand for this look too. Of course, this look is best for a night out, but a toned down version works during the day too.

Duwop has a great gray eyeshadow palette that I love, perfect for the smokey eye look
