Birthday weekend in Solvang, CA

These are pictures taken with my phone from a recent trip of wine tasting and shopping to Solvang, CA. Such a cute town with scenic drives to vineyards nearby. The first two images are actually from Wiki just to show better pictures of what this town looks like during the day.

                      From my Iphone...

As we were driving to a vineyard we randomly drove past this chapel. I had to take a picture, such a storybook Country Chapel.

                                      Saint Ines Mission- very beautiful

Old Cemetery. Reading about the history made it even more interesting.

                                                        One of my favorite shots

As you can see, the Courtyard area is beautiful. The weather was gorgeous that day so it added to the beauty.

On to what I found shopping wise...I have been in such an accessory mood lately, more than ever. Accessories are great. You can use them over and over. Unlike clothing, you don't really have to worry about accessories getting stained or not fitting right. What I am saying is, accessories are fun and easy! If you want to buy a gift for someone who maybe doesn't seem like much of a shopper or who is the type of person who doesn't like trying on clothes- I recommend finding them some cute accessories. Some that can be worn daily and then some random fun pieces. I found a bracelet and several rings.

The bracelet and rings are from different shops throughout the main shopping area. All were for great prices!

This display is obviously getting overwhelmed...

Something about this elephant ring. I love the red back and the red rhinestones. So charming.

Bracelet again.

And that is that...I recommend visiting Solvang if you have the opportunity. It was a nice change from trips to LA or the Bay area.

Pink Friday

I was on the hunt to find a new bright pink lipstick. While doing so, I not only found a great lipstick, but a lipliner I fell in love with. The lipstick is "Girl About Town" and the lipliner is "Process Magenta", both by Mac. The lipliner is brighter than the lipstick, but they complement eachother nicely.

Not the greatest application, but you get the idea of the color hopefully ;)

side note***Mac had a limited edition shade called "Pink Friday" that was advertised with Nicki Minaj. It is no longer available but I didn't want the title of this post to confuse anyone

Mac Lipstick  $14.50

Look for less: Leather Jackets

I thought I would do a  look for less post on one of my favorite winter go to pieces, the leather jacket (real or faux). Personally, I use leather jackets more for their looks than I do for the warmth factor. A leather jacket, whether real or faux, is a great way to add a touch of edge to any outfit. Some people have the impression that leather jackets are always pricey. I suppose if you are wanting genuine leather, then yes you will be paying more. However, like anything in life, you can always find a cheaper version of something you like.
One of my favorite leather jackets is from H&M, it is faux leather yet I have people ask me all the time where I got it and how much it was. They are always surprised when I tell them $30!

As you can see in the image above, leather jackets can be very pricey. Diesel, which is a great brand that is more expensive, has one for over $1,000. No thank you! I love the faux jacket by H&M just fine.

I also  love grey so I had to include a look for less on grey leather jackets

So remember, fashion doesn't have to be expensive. You spend what you want; if you feel guilty over splurging try to find the look for less next time!
